It's a knock-down, drag-out fight over reduced violence. In 2005 California passed a law banning the sale/rental of extremely violent video games to minors. The law was overturned on appeal. Eight current and former employees of Marshall County Schools, mostly at the Central Office, are alleging discrimination in complaints to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission office in Nashville. The complainants who've filed in recent months include: Jackie Abernathy, Tyra D. Braden, Larry Miller, Teresa Moses, Patsey Y. Thomas, Janet Wiles, Angie Williams and Linda Williams-Lee. State Rep. Eddie Bass has been scheduled as a featured speaker on the east side of the Marshall County Courthouse for the traditional Veterans Day ceremonies Thursday when Desert Shield and Storm veteran Milton Giddens will attend. Marshall County's Sheriff has apologized for "harsh language" in a memo he issued last week when his "emotions" got the best of him while protecting his daughter.
