Marshall County Sheriff Norman Dalton on Wednesday said two of his detectives apprehended a man accused of dealing crack cocaine and also selling a substance that looks like cocaine, but is not a drug. Jamie Allen Perryman, 20, was found at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and charged with two counts of allegedly selling crack cocaine, and a charge of selling a counterfeit substance, Dalton said. The counterfeit offense comes from selling something similar to an illegal drug such as selling baby powder as if it was cocaine. more

The body of Penny Blackwell Coyle, 51, of Verona Caney Road, was found slumped over on the driver's side of her car beside Old Rock Crusher Road that Monday night. "We're looking for a guy named Jamie Perryman, a black male, 6-foot tall, weighing 165 pounds whose date of birth is Feb. 18, 1991," Sheriff Norman Dalton said Tuesday morning. more
Marshall County's unemployment rate continues to go down, but it's still well into double-digit figures, meaning it's higher than state and national rates. From staff reports Less than a half hour before the Cash Express on Nashville Highway was to open Wednesday morning, a blue Pontiac Montana crashed through the front glass door and picture windows, Lewisburg Police said.
