Mr. William Dennis Batten, 82, of the Laws Hill community of Marshall County, died Sunday, June 20, 2021, at his home in the Laws Hill community.
Mr. Batten was born in Marshall County and was a son of the late Allen and Pearl Batten. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Douglas Batten.
Dennis retired from Eaton Corporation in Shelbyville and was a life long farmer. He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Batten was a member of the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.
Mr. Batten is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Batten of the Laws Hill comm.; sons, Charles Allen Batten and Ricky Joe (Sherry) Batten, all from Laws Hill comm.; sisters; Nancy Weddington, Flat Creek comm. of Bedford County, Betty Spence, Shelbyville, TN; sister-in-law, Roberta Batten, Wheel comm.; grandchildren, Alicia (Jason) Warner, Jessica (John) Adams, Jesse (Floyetta) Comstock; great grandchildren, Carli, Camreigh and Cutter Warner, Grayson Adams, Luke and Madelyn Comstock; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Mr. Batten will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Hopper Cemetery with Tony White officiating. Burial will immediately follow.
