Mr. William “Billy” Hopkins, 91, of Lewisburg, TN, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2022 following an extended illness. Born in Marshall Co., Billy was a son of the late Henry Clifton Hopkins and Willie Blanche Nix Hopkins. He was member of the Class of 1951 at Forrest High School. Billy was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He retired from Inter-City Products with 26 years of service and was a farmer and a member of the Church Street Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Jane Chapman Hoskins who died in 2015; a brother Walter Henry Hopkins; sisters, Alice June Hopkins and Lena Bell Price.
Billy is survived by a daughter, Melody (Dan) Sullivan of Brentwood, TN; a sister, Patricia (Nathan) Todd of Chapel Hill, TN; a brother, Tex (Mary) Hopkins of Lewisburg, TN; three grandchildren, Carrie (George) Lund, Jenna (Seth) Griffith, Sarah (Daniel) Smith; five great-grandchildren, Holland Lund, Hailey Lund, Hannah Lund, William Camden Stafford, Zachary Stafford.
A funeral service was held Nov. 3, 2022, at Mars Hill Cemetery.
Lawrence Funeral Home and Cremation Services was in charge of arrangements.
