Virginia Murline Watt Coward

Virginia Murline Watt Coward, 96, of Lewisburg, died Friday, July 30, 2021, at NHC Lewisburg.

She was a native of Marshall County, the daughter of the late Sidney Watt and Eula Wolaver Watt. She was retired from public work after 50 years. Virginia loved Christ and was of the Methodist faith. She was a person of strength, good character, and saw the good in everyone. She loved her family and held a special love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a real love for animals, especially cats. She also loved fishing and traveling. She is leaving a memorable legacy on Earth, but now is one of God’s angels. We love and miss you, mom. Forever in our hearts until we meet again!!

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Robert Cleo Coward and brother, Wilburn Watt. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Gene) Williams of Lewisburg; son, Wayne (Debbie) Coward of Lewisburg; three grandchildren, Lori (Lee) Derryberry, Jon (Jenny) Coward, Clint (Chelsea) Williams; and four great grandchildren, Madison Derryberry, Nathan Derryberry, Jackson Coward, Christian Williams. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at 10 a.m. from chapel of London Funeral Home, 324 West Church Street, Lewisburg, TN 37091 with burial to follow in Head Springs Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will begin Monday, August 2, 2021, from 4 until 8 p.m. and will continue on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, until the funeral hour.

Pallbearers will be Clint Williams, Jerry Baxter, Nathan Derryberry, Lee Derryberry, Jon Coward, Jackson Coward.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lewisburg Animal Shelter.

London Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.
