Mr. Tom V. Wigington, 96, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, at his home in the Holts Corner community. Mr. Wigington was born May 4, 1926, in Bochito, OK, to Gillie Coburn Wigington and Thomas Virgil Wigington, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by sisters, Joyce Wilson, Delores Beals, and brothers, David Wigington, Bill Wigington and Bobby Wigington.

Tom graduated high school in 1943. While a senior in high school, he was drafted into the United States Navy and served in the Marshall Islands and Philippines during World War II. After being honorably discharged, he entered Oklahoma City University where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree. Tom taught math and history at Forrest High School for 28 years. Along with teaching, he was able to also fulfill his passion of coaching high school basketball for those 28 years. During his tenure, his teams won many trophies and went to the State tournaments in 1973 and in 1978.

Mr. Wigington was a member of Riggs Church of Christ where he faithfully served as an elder for 40 years.

Mr. Wigington is survived by his wife of 60 years, Frances Chrisman Wigington, Holts Corner comm.; daughter, Jacque Perryman Dospil, Holts Corner comm.; son, Thomas Wigington, III, Lewisburg, TN; sisters, Naoma Kennedy, Mustang, OK, Gwen McClung, Watonga, OK; brother, Glenn (Charlene) Wigington, Boerne, TX; grandchildren, Brad (Dana) Perryman, Ryan (Rachel) Perryman; great-grandchildren, Tayler (Zach) Horvath, David Andrews, Cole Perryman, Morgan Perryman, Caroline Perryman, Anna Perryman, Ella Perryman; great-great-grandchildren, Avery Horvath, Jackson Horvath, Kyler Coward; niece, Tammi (Doug) Pruitt; great-nephews, Paten (Ashton) Pruitt, Lucas (McKinsey) Pruitt, Jesse (Ryleigh) Pruitt; several other nieces and nephews.

Family members will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Russell Wyatt and Paten Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.

Brad Perryman, Ryan Perryman, Paten Pruitt, Lucas Pruitt, Jesse Pruitt, David Andrews, Cole Perryman and Doug Pruitt will serve as pallbearers.
