FAYETTEVILLE — Hits were far and few between for the Marshall County Tigers on Tuesday afternoon at Lincoln County.
The Falcons kept the Tigers hit-less at the plate, while managing just three hits of their own against Lewisburg pitchers, and took a 3-1 win over Marshall County.
Luttrell kept with his recent consistency on the mound and delivered another gem, minimizing the effectiveness of batters at the plate.
He went six innings and despite giving up six hits, allowed just two earned runs to cross the plate.
Lincoln County plated one in the first, one in the third and one final run in the fifth.
Marshall County responded with an unearned run in the top of the sixth, but was unable to solve the Falcon pitching staff, who combined for 12 strikeouts against Marshall County.
Marshall County hits the road and travels east this weekend to participate in the Mountain Valley Classic.
