Susan Lynn Adams, 71, of Lewisburg, TN, passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Elgin, IL, with her daughter Michelle by her side.
Born in Pensacola, FL on June 26, 1949, Susan was the second daughter of Robert E. Damler and Kathleen M. Russell of Elgin, IL. She was a class of 1967 graduate of Big Foot High School in Walworth, WI, and later studied Accounting and Finance at College of DuPage.
She was a project manager for Verizon (formerly XO Communications) for 17 years before retiring in 2019. Throughout her career, she prided herself on her strong work-ethic and commitment to customer satisfaction.
Susan was the treasured mother of Michelle Adams and adored companion to her beloved feline, Bruno. She was also survived by her loving nieces Stephanie Youngblood and Justina Soto, and great-niece Beonca Youngblood. She was preceded in death by her cherished mother, Kathleen Lucas and sister, Linda Lyman.
Susan was an honest, kindhearted, compassionate, generous woman and was always there when anyone needed her. She was shy yet very strong, independent, and amazingly resilient. A true “spitfire”, Susan was most adored for her quick-witted humor and brilliant sarcasm. She will be dearly missed and eternally in our hearts.
We all know how much love and compassion Susan had for animals, so the family requests remembrances be made in the form of charitable donations in her honor to Anderson Humane www.andersonanimalshelter.org/donate, or to your favorite charitable organization.
