CHAPEL HILL — The Forrest Rockets won a close match on Tuesday afternoon at Henry Horton, beating out Richland by four strokes to claim the team victory.
Cascade's Evan Woosley-Reed, the two-time defending state champion, won medalist honors with a 36.
But several Rockets were hot on his heels.
Consistent scoring from across the Forrest lineup were the name of the game as Noah Brown and Sebastian Thompson each shot a 44, while Trey Williamson and Kelton Grubbs each carded a 50.
In the girls' side of the match, Forrest's Maggie Browning turned in a strong showing with a 46, but it wasn't enough to overcome a sharp outing by Cascade, who won the match with an 81.
In addition to Browning's 46, Ava Edmondson shot a 61 for a 107 team score.
