Phillip Dennison Bowden, 65, passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021, in Columbia, TN. Phil was born Aug. 2, 1955, and a 1973 graduate of Marshall County High School.

Phil was deeply loved by his family in Marshall County and in New England where his oldest brother and family settled. He had a contagious personality, and his smile would lighten up a room. Phil was at his best when playing music or enjoying his favorite activity, fishing in the creeks and ponds around the Farmington home. He loved to tell stories, especially about fishing, and he could make any story interesting. Phil also loved his grandkids whom he was especially fond of. Phil was a loyal Tennessee Vols fan and wore orange and white with pride. He left his family with great memories that will never be forgotten.

Phil is predeceased in death by his parents, Stanley and Frances Helton Bowden; a sister, Sandra Bowden Gillespie; and nephews, Jack Gillespie and Tony Johnson.

Phil is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Erin Bowden; grandchildren, Anzlei Kae and Nathan Stanley Bowden; brothers, Stanley (Sharen) Bowden of Cambridge, MA and Steve (Myra) Bowden of Lewisburg; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services for Phil will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021, at 2 p.m., at Bowden Cemetery, Old Farmington Road, Lewisburg, TN, by Reverend Claude McMillian.
