Mrs. Nellie Fay Hardin Watson, 82, resident of Lewisburg, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022, surrounded by family members at NHC Lewisburg.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, April 10, 2022, beginning at 1 p.m. at Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg, TN. Brother David Hale of Freewill Baptist Church will be officiating.
Born on Feb. 5, 1940, on Sand Mountain in Alabama, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley Hardin and the late Vernell G. Wright Hardin. Nellie enjoyed birdwatching, going antiquing, yard sales and had a green thumb for gardening. She loved talking on the phone to friends. Her favorite thing was family get togethers. Nellie was a devoted church member to the Freewill Baptist Church in Lewisburg, TN.
Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Wallace (Al Hammons), Cindy “Kelley” (Daryl) Winstand and Lora Lope Harris all of Lewisburg; son, Wayne Wallace of Lewisburg; stepson, Michael Watson of Lewisburg; brothers, Verlon Hardin of Bakersfield, CA and Eddie (Alice) Hardin of Huntland; sister, Judy (Dwight) Goodman of Lascassas; grandchildren, Kenny Stovall, Kendra Stovall (David Dodson), David (Christy) Robinson, Julie Robinson, Mieke Wallace (DeVonte Shelton), Coleman Harris, Dallas Harris, Seth Brannon, and Stacy (Mike) Thompson; twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband Ed Watson, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Theda Wallace of Lewisburg; sister, Martha Ann Matson of Bakersfield, CA; brothers, Robert E. Hardin of Bryant, AL, and Billy Ray Hardin of Shelbyville.
