Mayna Laws Allen Moses

Mrs. Mayna Laws Allen Moses, 97, of the Caney Spring community of Marshall County, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, in Lewisburg, TN.  Mrs. Moses was born in Marshall County and was a daughter of the late Harvey and Rebecca Henderson Doss Allen. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Kennie Crutcher Moses, who died in 1982, and a son John Moses, who died in 2021, and a sister, Eva Doss Allen.

Mrs. Moses was a graduate of Martin Methodist College in Pulaski and then attended St. Thomas School of Nursing in Nashville, where she graduated in 1947. She then entered the nursing field and retired from Merihil Health Care (now NHC Lewisburg). In addition to her nursing career, she was a homemaker and very active in the Caney Spring United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Moses is survived by her son, Sam (Teresa) Moses, Caney Spring comm.; daughter-in-law, Vicki Moses, Caney Spring comm.; sister, Barbara Hayes, Lewisburg, TN; two grandchildren, Laura (Chad) Turner, Rebecca (Matthew) Blount; six great-grandchildren, Lauren and Laney Turner, Easton, Blaine, Grayson, and Carley Blount; two great-great-grandchildren, Marlee and Averlee.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, at 3 p.m at Allen Cemetery in the Caney Spring community with Rev. Tim Holton officiating. Burial will immediately follow.
