Marjorie Ring Hardison Sedge, 96, retired nurse for Leonard’s Hospital in Lewisburg and Merihil Nursing Home in Lewisburg, died Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Mark Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Born Jan. 20, 1925, in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Louis Ring and the late Willie Bell Derryberry Ring. On Dec. 24, 1943, she married Joe Thomas Hardison who preceded her in death March 10, 1996. Later she married Harry Sedge who preceded her in death in 2015. Mrs. Sedge loved sewing, gardening, and growing flowers. She was a member of Horse Mountain Church of Christ.

Survivors include her daughter, Wilma Hardison Williams of Lewisburg; son, James Thomas Hardison of Lewisburg; sister, Shelby Lunn (Thomas) Yates of Columbia; grandchildren, Timmy (Heather) Hopkins, Michael (Donna) Wheeler, Mitchell Wheeler, Kerry (Camille) Wheeler; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Billy Joe Hardison in 2015; granddaughter, Cindy Hardison Bailiff; and brother, Boyd Ring.

Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Alvin Lunn, Mickey Fitzgerald, Michael Brad Fitzgerald, Thomas A. Yates, Brady Fitzgerald, Blake Fitzgerald, and Landon Clark. Honorary pallbearers include all of her friends at Horse Mountain Church of Christ, friends at Antioch Church of Christ, and all of her close neighbors in Shelbyville and Lewisburg.
