John David Lucas, 77, resident of Lewisburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at Elk River Health & Rehabilitation, after a short illness.
A funeral service was conducted Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at 1 p.m. at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home with Father Reggie officiating. Burial followed in Lone Oak Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Air Force. The family visited with friends Monday, December 14, 2020, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton. The family requested everyone follow CDC guideline on social distancing and facial covering was required.
Born on Dec. 18, 1942, in Hamtramck, MI, he was the son of the late John Lucas and the late Wanda Rafalik Lucas. He served in the United States Air Force and a proud member of the V.F.W. John enjoyed gardening, traveling, and throwing horseshoes. He was an avid car enthusiast, and knew a lot about old cars. Mr. Lucas was a member of St. John Catholic Church.
Survivors include his son, John (Jodi) Lucas; daughter, Tammy Voynar; grandchildren, Hope Voynar and Nickalas Lucas.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lucas and sister, Diane.
