Henry Hollis Horton

Henry Hollis Horton, age 86, of Murfreesboro, formerly of Lewisburg, died Thursday, April 8th, 2021 at his residence.

He was a native of Marshall County, the son of the late John Horton and Josephine Adams Horton. He was a Computer systems analyst for the Atomic Energy Commission and was a minister of the Church of Christ. He was a graduate of Forrest High School, and then attended MTSU and the University of Tennessee. He served as an elder of the church, served in the National Guard, and was active in PTO, band, 4H, and real estate. He enjoyed raising horses and Charolais cattle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Adeline Horton Beasley.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Woodward Horton, son, Henry H. Horton Jr. “Buddy” of West Virginia, two daughters, Mary Louise Horton Woods of Murfreesboro, Ann Adeline Horton Hoke of Murfreesboro, brother, Chase A. (Jeanette) Horton of Lewisburg, grandchildren, Ryan (April) Hoke, Nathan Woods, Leisha Hoke (Elijah) Aaron, Katie Woods (Jon) Dispennett, and eleven great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, April 12th, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the Horton Family Cemetery with burial to follow.

A private family visitation will begin on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.

London Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.
