Lewisburg Police officers arrested a man Tuesday after a tense situation, in which he fired several rounds in the parking lot at the Summit Apartments in Lewisburg.
According to witnesses, Eric Parker began firing from a revolver at approximately 11:15 a.m.
As officers from LPD and Marshall County Sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene, they set up a perimeter to secure the area, and Parker began walking toward officers.
As he approached, according to the LPD, Parker was shouting at officers “black lives matter” and “George Floyd.’
Parker stopped to reload as officers urged him to surrender, firing one more shot before throwing down the weapon.
Parker was taken into custody after a brief struggle. One officer was treated and released for a hand injury.
Parker is charged with attempted criminal homicide, possession of a weapon by a felon, unlawful possession of a weapon, and three counts of reckless endangerment.
His bond was set at $750,000.
