Douglas Adrian “Doug” Looney, 79, of Lewisburg, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2022, at Maury County Regional Health Center.
He was a native of Marshall County, the son of the late James Hugh and Madelle Welch Looney. He retired as an engineer for ICP after 40 years and was a elder of the Richland Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He served on the board of Short Cemetery for 50 years, loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Bills and brother, A.V. Looney.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Linda Wiser Looney; one daughter, Angela (Billy Joe) White; one son, Glenn (Cheryl) Looney; and two brothers, Hubreen (Jean) Looney and Jerry (Judy) Looney, all of Marshall County. Three grandchildren, Lenzie Lashwood, Adria (Brent) Pope, Houston Looney, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, at 10 a.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home, 324 West Church Street, Lewisburg, TN 37091 with burial to follow in Short Cemetery.
Visitation with the family began Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and will continue on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, until the funeral hour.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Short Cemetery or the church of your choice.
London Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.
