Mr. Bobby Gene Batte, 90, of Chapel Hill, TN, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022. Mr. Batte was born in Chapel Hill and was a son of the late Samuel Guy Batte and Bessie Mai Collins. In addition to his parents, Bobby was also preceded in death by his son, Randy Batte and brother, Sammy Batte.
Mr. Batte served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired after 46 years of services from Inter-City Products of Lewisburg where he worked as a welder and was a member of Mt. Lebanon Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Batte is survived by his wife of 67 years, Oma Howard Batte, Chapel Hill, TN; daughter, Linda (Jack) Gillespie, Columbia, TN; sisters, Joan (George) Robertson, Chapel Hill, TN, Judy (Tim) Siniard, Pulaski, TN, Peggy Tauton, Tallassee, AL; brother, Billy (Joan) Batte, Chapel Hill, TN; grandchildren, Carla (Barrow) Gillespie Brown, Randall (Amy) Gillespie, Blake (Bekah) Gillespie; great-grandchildren, Ashtyn Claire Brown, Owen Gillespie, John Collins Gillespie, Jack Gillespie, Ivy Gillespie and Beau Gillespie.
Family members received friends Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, from 10 until 11 a.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Graveside services and burial followed at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
Ricky Fagan, Mark Aydelott, Barrow Brown, Randall Gillespie and Blake Gillespie served as pallbearers.
